2017 Glastonbury Democratic Candidates Endorsed

After extensive interviews, the five-member Slate Committee of the Glastonbury Democratic Town Committee announced their recommendations to the Town Committee at their July 18 meeting and received a final endorsement.

The incumbents for Town Council, Board of Education, Board of Finance, Zoning Board of Appeals were endorsed.

New candidates for Town Council include Deb Carroll, Mary LaChance, Jake McChesney, Larry Niland.

New candidate for Board of Education is David Peniston, Jr.

New candidate for Board of Assessment Appeals is Manisha Srivastva.

New candidate for Fire Commissioner is Rich Quagliaroli.

Charlie Murray, Chairman of the Glastonbury Democratic Town Committee, commented, “The opportunity to endorse a Slate with experienced incumbents and highly motivated new candidates is exciting.  We will continue to bring to our community leadership and community spirit which makes us the ideal choice to represent the Citizens of Glastonbury.”

Murray acknowledge the dedicated service that Cara O’Keefe provided and her decision not to continue as a candidate to the Town Council.

Jill Barry, Doug Foyle, and Tom Gullotta have a proven record for supporting neighborhoods and our tax payers; Deb Carroll, Mary LaChance, Jake McChesney, Larry Niland will bring a fresh outlook and utility their professional expertise to improve our transparency to our voters.

James McIntosh will continue to control our town and school budgets.   Rich Quagliaroli will bring his experience as a volunteer firefighter to his role as a fire commissioner.     Sandy O’Leary and Jaye Winkler will continue in their roles with Zoning Board of Appeals.   Manisha Srivastva will bring her professional expertise to the Board of Assessment Appeals.
